Alright, now what do we have here! A sneak Peek of a song, and yet another scorcher of a track by San Antonio, Texas, Nu Metal band, Westcreek. Let Me Bleed is the latest song to arrive hot the heels of Westcreeks juggernaut of an album, What’s Left Of Me, and if you are just being introduced now to the high octane, melodic, and kick ass sound of Westcreek, well I can’t think of a better song to welcome you into the fold.
Let Me Bleed bridges the best of what the 90’s had to offer while also capturing the intensity of what we expect out of heavy music today. I can’t help but find inspirational comparisons in all of the music that I listen to, and if I am to draw a few bands that you might know as a slight comparison with what Westcreek has created with Let Me Bleed then I would have to mention Filter, Stabbing Westward, and even some Linkin Park (minus the rapping).
Written by Westcreek vocalist, Daniel Bas, Let Me Bleed was clearly never meant to give you a breather in its three minute and eight second runtime. From the moment it opens it doesn’t quit the progression through some deep, dark, and aggressive lyrical content with a sense of inspiration woven in, which makes sense when you consider how the band describes their music, “it is a place “where struggle and despair meet HOPE.”
The production value on this track is absolutely second-to-none. Hats off to Ramon Villarreal of Dark Tone Audio who tracked and mixed this beauty to perfection. I have some high-end headphones that leave no room for error, and I can tell you that this song is gorgeous to listen to from start to finish.
It’s a loud song to be sure, and considering how aggressively Guitarists, John Mckinnis and Eddie Nava pair off against each other, this song could have easily turned into a mess of distortion, but it’s just straight up exciting to hear! Bassist, Michael Arocha, and drummer, Rocko Cortez, both understood the assignment to create an undeniable backbone to the song that would drive the message of the band home, which is that there is no denying the impressive sound that Westcreek brings to the music scene.
I have no doubt that Westcreeks latest single, Let Me Bleed, will find its place on a great many of playlists, and if I had a choice in the matter, I would place this song in the hands of anyone putting together a John Wick style action movie, because Let Me Bleed is an extremely cinematic experience through and through.
Well done, Westcreek, consider me a fan!
