Let us get one thing out in the open shall we? I have always thought the incredibly ambitious and talented band Thrice has been underrated. They are an extremely popular band and judging by their legion of loyal fans, you might not know what the hell I am even talking about; but trust me when I say that this soul searching band does not seem to be talked about nearly enough, in my humble opinion.

Releasing their hard-hitting, emotionally driven, and a completely on-point new album titled “To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere”, Thrice has once again managed to show that there is no sign of slowing down or any lack of inspiration coming from their camp.

Welcome Back! Thrice Returns With An Incredible New Album

Opening with the instantly classic title “Hurricane”, I am reminded exactly why I have missed this band so much during their hiatus over the last five years. The lead singer, Dustin Kensrue has always had my complete respect as an artist, because he doesn’t hold back, he doesn’t water down his own faith, and he doesn’t shy away from taking new roads in regards to the sound of his music. I may not subscribe to any particular religion myself, but I can tell you that I do enjoy witnessing the spiritual journey of any artist that doesn’t waste their time trying to convert their listeners with every song. Hurricane is a powerful song with guitars dripping with emotion. One listen wasn’t enough, and not nearly loud enough the first time; the second playthrough though, I turned it up so loud, and I felt truly thankful for being able to hear such incredibly passionate art. Well done Thrice, well done indeed.

Their current single “Black Honey” is a devious track aimed at getting the point across that the daily grind for a better life is, in many ways, a painful and punishing process. The accompanying video is haunting to say the least. Thrice have always dug deep into their creative well to speak about issues both important to us all, and also issues that continue to plague our overly busy species.  “Black Honey” is the perfect anthem for the tired souls that have been chasing their financial dreams for far longer than maybe they should.

Welcome Back! Thrice Returns With An Incredible New Album

A track that reminds me of some previous efforts off their stellar album Beggars, is the beautiful and powerfully sculpted track “The Window”. This song is like a fine wine, it simply keeps getting better and better with age, and every playthrough reveals more and more depth within every facet of this track. A personal favorite on this Bluesy/Rock infused album, I would ask that all listeners give this particular song a spin.

“To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere” is not only my personal favorite album from this incredible band but also one of my top three album choices of 2016. As a longtime fan of Thrice I can tell you that they have been working towards this album for their entire careers, and I hope that all Thrice fans are as happy to see them return as I am.

Thrice can be found on Facebook and their official site.
