I am a seasonal music listener, the type of listener who chooses what music to listen to based on the time of year, I guess you could say that the music chooses to present itself to me when the timing is right, and this is exactly what happened with ET Boys latest music video for their catchy-as-hell new single wyrm (Will You Remember Me?). It just on so happens to be entering into summer and this song feels exactly like what you would want to play while driving with the windows down on a warm evening,
Hailing from South Florida, the nu-pop/melodic rap brothers (Tacboy and Sharkeyes) are a great addition to the fast-rising culture of Latino artists bringing fresh new music to the scene. wyrm is a trancelike experience that doesn’t stray too far from the laid-back vibe that it opens with. It strikes a perfect blend of an upbeat sound with a melancholy spirit found in looking back on someone special and hoping they might still be thinking of you.
Love is hard, it must be or else it wouldn’t be worth the pursuit, and this song captures the heart of that idea perfectly. We love, we lose, we look back, and we ultimately move on. wyrm would find itself perfectly suited for those both TV and Movie Soundtracks, it just has that timeless feel. I am trying to place my finger on who they might be compared to, they have some Daft Punk, some Gorillaz, and some Badflower, but they respectfully draw from their inspirations rather than carbon-copy them.
It’s always great to come across the right music at the right time, and in the budding summer season I find the latest song ‘wyrm’ from ET Boys to fit perfectly into my night-driving playlist.
