I am not surprised at all to see yet another great band show up on the music scene from Australia. So, when I heard the fast-pulsed and smooth-as-silk production value on the new track from Fatty Boomba, titled “Mean Machine”, I just turned the track straight up and enjoyed every moment of what I heard; and then I hit repeat. Like candy for the ears, Fatty Boomba aims to create “fun” music, the sort of music that will get stuck in your head, the spirited sort of music that will beckon you to the dance floor (or to the beach with a drink in hand).
The brain-child of Peter Josef Hofbauer (PJ), Fatty Boomba is a band that is “Fat” in sound and full of rhythm; “Boomba!”. Courting the POP/EDM genre, Fatty Boomba offers up new elements to this genre, and the focus on the songwriting feels far more organic.
Instantly transporting us to the late-night hours at the club, “Mean Machine” is sex in a bottle, a euphoric anthem for those who live for the party, and just one catchy-as-hell track. As far as singles go, this one checks off all the important boxes, and the production value is both crystal clear and methodical.

Hitting the radio airwaves in a major way, the infectious track titled “Girls Girls Girls”, Fatty Boomba made it very clear that they take making music very seriously. Every moment on this track has been worked over and over and over, until the final masterwork was completed. Just like “Mean Machine”, “Girls Girls Girls” serves as an anthem for the hedonistic. It captures the listener by simply trying to be a “fun” song, and in that pursuit, Fatty Boomba succeeds in spades.

In an industry choked with bad production and rushed out, half-baked music; it is great to see artists who put in this much effort to create an attractive sounding song.
