PSA (Haters Gonna Hate)

I am not one to call people out, even if they are busy calling me out. I choose not to engage in the anger of others, as it inevitably brings unnecessary discomfort into my own life.  I believe hard work will always override the slander of others, and I believe an honest agenda will always gain you more ground in business; I also believe that this can be said about all corners of both business and the arts.
You have music to offer the world right? You made that music with passion, with honesty, and with the desire to reach out; but what happens when someone else accuses you of not being “authentic” or creating art for the money? Do you engage in that battle, defend yourself, and muddy up your own clear thoughts with the hazy negative intent of another? I certainly hope not.

PSA (Haters Gonna Hate)

So it is important to be true to yourself. To create music, art, and business in such a way that it is a part of who you are. Others will try to stop you, and that is usually a sign that you are doing something right, and you must always remember that stepping into the ring to fight means that you will not be stepping out of the ring to create any time soon.  It is to be expected that radio stations will not play your music, that some bloggers will attack your style, judge your motives, and try to slow your pace. You will face resistance, but resistance is friction, and through friction real personal growth happens. You must never look to a negative review, a personal attack, or anything of the sort, and accept that disruptive view into your own psyche. Resistance will be your friction, and friction will be for your own betterment.

Empire Music Promotions is built upon a foundation of trust with our clients. We offer the best advice that we can, the best service that we can, and with the most transparent ethos that we can; yet, as this company builds, we face personal attacks from would-be competitors who try to slow our pace; and it reminds me of a lot of the adversity I have already had to overcome in this life.

I urge musicians to keep silent when you can. To choose to not engage in future personal attacks, negative reviews, and or any other type of attack on your music and who you are; because you have better things to do, more music to create, and because you will ultimately win in silence.

PSA (Haters Gonna Hate)

I am intentionally not mentioning the company that has been attacking me personally because I do not want to draw attention to their efforts, I do not want to give them a voice, and because I myself (like you) have much better things to do with my time.
So if there is a lesson to be learned here, a piece of advice worthy of carrying with you into your future musical career and life, it is this;  adversity is to be expected, your reaction should be calculated, and you should never waste your time defending who you know you are to those who obviously do not.
